Solarcycle Morph Floor

About
Dyson's Solarcycle Morph is a floor lamp that changes color temperature and intensity throughout the day to match natural daylight for your latitude, then transforms — physically — into four different modes: focused task light, indirect ambient wash, downlight, and feature light. The optical head uses three LED banks and a heat-piped cooling system Dyson developed for its motor lines, and it's engineered to hold accurate color for sixty years. Everything is controlled from a slim capacitive dial on the arm. It's a lamp designed the way an appliance is designed — with a specific job to do, and no interest in decoration for its own sake.
Industrial engineering disguised as household appliances.
